George Styles Steps Forward With New Single ‘(Wither Into) the Unknown’
George Styles returns with a striking new release, “(Wither Into) the Unknown,” a self-produced piece that showcases his singular artistic voice. The track arrives fully mastered by long-time collaborator NYDUS, marking almost eight years of creative partnership between the two.
Written during the Covid era and originally intended for the Love Canoe project, Styles held the song back “for some reason,” he laughs, but its moment has clearly arrived. He cites influences from legends like Tom Waits and Nick Cave, which seep through in the track’s atmospheric grit. “Lyrically it’s pure nonsense,” he admits, “but hopefully it’s got some nice imagery in there.”
As with much of his work, Styles performed every instrument on the track, underscoring the deep musicianship fans have come to admire. Beyond his solo catalogue, listeners may also recognise his distinctive guitar work on “Take Risks” and “Property,” by NYDUS where his playing adds texture and emotional depth.
Though “(Wither Into) the Unknown” is brand new, Styles hints that more music is quietly brewing. “I’m not sure when I’ll be releasing anything else,” he says, “but I’ve definitely got some more tracks in the pipeline.” His focus for 2026 leans toward a bold new direction: electronic music. “It’s the main thing I want to promote… I’ve been working hard on it recently and I’m looking forward to dropping that in the new year.”
With this release, George Styles reaffirms his place as a distinctive, exploratory artist—restless, inventive, and never afraid to carve his own path into the unknown.
