Zeezo — Day in My Life, 2INSYNC
Born in Luton and now based in London, Zeezo is a self-produced artist connected to the DUB 5 community, with visuals shaped through shoots in Budapest and Barcelona.
You’ve said “Day in my life not a minute you’d feel.” If people misunderstand one thing about your life when they hear your music, what is it?
People think they understand rap. They don’t. They hear noise and think it’s a lifestyle. It’s survival. Most days aren’t loud, they’re tense. I think careful but execute wild. That’s hard to understand.
You produce and engineer everything yourself. What does doing it all in-house give you that working with others wouldn’t?
Doing it all myself keeps it untouched. No opinions, no delays, no compromise. Too many hands ruin the truth.
When you moved from Luton to London, what mindset did you have to drop in order to move forward?
I dropped the idea that anyone was coming to help me, or return the favour for my help. Luton made that clear fast. Once I accepted it was on me, and that continuing meant risking my freedom. I stopped hesitating.
I Bled Alone captures a real moment in your life. What does that project represent, and why release it now?
I Bled Alone is not a project. It’s testimony. Things I wish I could have said in court as a defendant. I’m releasing it now because I don’t owe silence to that time anymore.
When someone presses play on 2INSYNC, what headspace should they expect to be in?
It’s for people who think too much, move quietly, but still get lit. If you like grit turned wavey, tune in.
2INSYNC is out now, with visuals directed by NYDUS and produced by DUB 5, filmed on location in Barcelona, Spain.
